Merlot Signature
From the "Les Grand'Vignes" plot on the commune of Auvernier, the new Merlot Signature 2022 has a deep purple-garnet color, synonymous of beautiful maturity. Like its "big brother » (the Merlot Grands Terroirs), this Merlot benefits from a unique micro-climate with soils mainly composed of pebbles and limestone subsoils.
The main differences between these two Merlot lie firstly in the vineyard, with slightly higher yields for the Merlot Signature. Secondly, the origin of the wood, the aromatic toasting and the aging period are different: 12 months in barrels for the Signature compared to 30 months for the Grands Terroirs.
The result is a more delicate wine, also intensely aromatic, almost as concentrated and tannic as its big brother. There is no shortage of fruitiness and roundness on the palate and its tannins are already silky for such a young wine.
